WILD HEARTS OPEN SKIES 〰️

Trinati, an alumna of Concordia University’s Early Childhood and Elementary Education program, brings the transformative power of outdoor learning to life through Child in the Wild Forest School + Nature Day Camp.

After seeing her preschoolers thrive during weekly forest days on Montreal’s Mount Royal, she created the extended programming including weekly nature school and summer day camp to offer more children the chance to grow and learn in nature, even in the heart of the city.

Trinati mentors educators to integrate nature-based learning into urban classrooms and actively guides teachers, parents and children in her Prana + Play Practice, helping them connect with nature’ rhythms, their personal breath, and their own bodies to build self-awareness and learn practices to regulate nervous systems. She is the lead educator at Empathink, a non-profit carving a path for accessible Empathy-based education.

Through her popular podcast, Storytime with Tula Jane and her Mother in the Wild, she shares the magic of storytelling and connection with families around the world.

To contact her, book a workshop or training for your school, daycare, studio or home, please write to her at: trinati@motherinthewild.com

Wild grass weaver, colour forager, wild mushroom lover... Ansona is a seasoned forest school practitioner who is committed to bringing positive impact through her nature-art educational work with children and adults.
Following three adult training programs with the Coyote Program: North Star (survival skills), Forest Feast (foraging and campfire cooking), and Nature Mentor Training (forest school education), she worked as an apprentice at Coyote Program.

We are fortunate to have Ansona sharing her passion and skills with Child in the Wild.

chava - co-director + lead nature-based ECE

Chava is a trans/non-binary early childhood educator who uses they/them and iel pronouns. With a deep passion for creating accessible environments, they’re committed to ensuring every space feels welcoming.

Currently studying to become a forest school practitioner with the Child Nature Alliance of Canada, Chava is also exploring Indigenous perspectives through the First People's Studies program at Concordia. A lifelong learner, they love being outdoors, playing, and creating with whatever nature offers.

Chava is thrilled to be working with Child in the Wild, where they join children in exploring and strengthening their connection with Tekanontak—what we call Mount Royal.

Two people by a lake, wearing black jackets, one is a child in a hood and beanie, the other an adult with short hair.

shanice - administrative director

None of this would be working as smoothly as it does without Shanice! Though she began her journey with us as a dedicated member of Child in the Wild Nature Playschool + Day Camp, registering her boys for most of Trinati's offerings, she is now a valued teammate. Her expertise + hearty support to help make this dream work possible.

Outside of her roles with us, Shanice can be found mothering her four children, co-founding businesses + brands, as well as offering her services to many entrepreneurs + companies.

She is passionate about supporting her community, especially Canadian Black-owned businesses.
