pijo — everyone’s BFF +
unofficial therapy dog

Pijo isn’t just a dog—he’s a vibe. As Trinati’s fur baby, his calm presence soothes even the most hesitant hearts. A nap-time pro, outdoor explorer, and loyal playmate, Pijo makes every moment brighter, safer, and more fun.

He’s not just everyone’s BFF—he’s the heartbeat of the wild.

Trinati, an alumna of Concordia University’s Early Childhood and Elementary Education program, brings the transformative power of outdoor learning to life through Child in the Wild Nature Day Camp.

After seeing her preschoolers thrive during weekly forest days on Montreal’s Mount Royal, she created the camp to offer more children the chance to grow and learn in nature, even in the heart of the city.

Trinati mentors educators to integrate nature-based learning into urban classrooms and actively guides individuals in her Prana + Play Practice, helping them connect with nature, their breath, and their bodies to build self-awareness and regulate their nervous systems.

Through her popular podcast, Storytime with Tula Jane and her Mother in the Wild, she shares the magic of storytelling with families around the world.

juliana - co-director + lead educator

Originally from Colombia, Juliana has spent the past eight years in Canada, weaving her expertise in Psychology and her Child Studies degree from Concordia University into her work with young children.

At Child in the Wild Playschool program, Juliana creates a space where children feel deeply valued and understood. She guides them as they build emotional regulation and social skills grounded in love, respect, and curiosity.

Fueled by the fulfillment this work brings, Juliana is committed to creating more spaces like Child in the Wild alongside Trinati, with a vision of supporting neurodiverse children and celebrating their unique strengths.

Currently studying to become a forest school practitioner with the Child Nature Alliance of Canada, Chava is also exploring Indigenous perspectives through the First People's Studies program at Concordia. A lifelong learner, they love being outdoors, playing, and creating with whatever nature offers.

Chava is thrilled to be working with Child in the Wild, where they join children in exploring and strengthening their connection with Tekanontak—what we call Mount Royal.

shanice - administrative director

None of this would be working as smoothly as it does without Shanice! Though she began her journey with us as a dedicated member of Child in the Wild Nature Playschool + Day Camp, registering her boys for most of Trinati's offerings, she is now a valued teammate. Her expertise + hearty support to help make this dream work possible.

Outside of her roles with us, Shanice can be found mothering her four children, co-founding businesses + brands, as well as offering her services to many entrepreneurs + companies.

She is passionate about supporting her community, especially Canadian Black-owned businesses.

rudy - counsellor & educator

As a child, Rudy spent their days crafting fairy homes, whispering to trees, and falling in love with dirt, moss, and the magic of the natural world.

For 15 years, they have worked with children as an educator and nanny, guided by deep respect for each child’s innate wisdom and brilliance.

Currently, Rudy is writing children’s books that celebrate the experiences of neurodiverse and queer kids, drawing inspiration from their background in theatre and the arts—and from the incredible children they’ve had the honor of supporting. As a somatic facilitator, Rudy is passionate about helping others connect with their resilience and power to create meaningful change.
